Is wal mart still selling fish? I went to my local wal mart here in Springfield MA and the tanks are gone and their are no more fish.
Does anyone know?

Some do, some don't. We have 3 Walmarts within a 25 mile radius and 1 out of 3 sells fish. Sad.........

Like Noods said some do, some don't. More store managers than not are pushing to get the tanks removed from their stores but it's very VERY hard to do. Being a former merchandise supervisor over the department, it just takes too much time for the upkeep. Being over 3 highly consumable departments with only 2 part time associates... you just can't give the fish the proper care they deserve. Factor in the amount of money loss due to fish loss, stolen fish, mislabeled fish being rung up at the register and then the man hours to clean the tanks, provide customer service, TALK to the people (and speaking from experience, most of the customers shopping at walmart have absolutely NO idea what they're talking about)... it's just not a good investment to keep the tanks in the store. The only thing is does is drive sales of the fish hardware (tanks, filters, heaters etc).

Our Wal-mart still sells fish, but it's also the only place in town that does. I looked for guppies there one day and decided I'd rather drive an hour to go get fish in Fort Wayne than buy from Wal-mart. So that's what I did.

2 out of 3 Walmarts i shop at still carry live fish. The two that carry them are (sounds like) in typical fashion

The 3 Walmarts in my area still do sell fish. I know some have removed the fish department and sell only supplies (if that), but the ones in my area still sell a limited number of fish.

I remember when I was a kid there were huge tanks with a lot more selection. It's been downgraded quite a bit since then, but they do have several tanks with mostly the common fish like goldfish, bettas, some tetras, etc., but a couple also have green spotted puffers.

My Wal*Mart also sells fish still. When I was littler I thought I remembered them having a ton more tanks. Their selection really isn't all that great, but man do they have alotta gold fish!

The 2 walmarts near my house both sell fish. Almost all walmarts I have ever been to have sold them.

I almost want to take a job at my local Walmart's just to run the fish deparments. But I make at least 30 an hour in pt work. Minimum wage won t cut it.
