Walmart plants???

Walmart???

I bought some fake plants at walmart tonight. Anyone ever used these kind of plants in their tanks? They would be going in an angelfish breeding tank. Thanks.

No, I mean I bought some out of the floral department. Like fake flowers for around your house and stuff. I'm guessing I can use them, but I do not want to risk my pair of angels. THanks.

We have nothing but fake plants in our tank...purchased at WalMart, Silk Plant Warehouse, and a local greenhouse. The only thing we watched for was that the plants were made all in one piece...that there was no parts that the fish could bite and pull apart.

If they have wires in them so you can bend them be careful they don't rust.

Maybe try soaking them overnight in some water to test and make sure any dye is permanent and doesn't come off.

Wouldn't you be worried about the glue that they use to put these flowers together (if indeed they use glue) be toxic to your fish? If I were to use fake plants, I normally use the ones that were designed for aquarium use.
