Just a few points from someone who used to be against hunting (some of which have already been stated):
1. Deer have the advantage of being insanely knowledgeable about were they live, as well as an acute sense of smell, amazing eyesite, and great camoflage. So who has the advantage? How many deer tags go unfilled every year because of the deers home field advantage? Also, Idon't care if I have a gun that can shoot 1000 miles, it doesn't matter if the woods only allow me a 30 yard shot.
2. humans = predator, deer = prey. How is it ok to eat a cow that has been overfed and laying in its own crap it's whole life, but it isn't ok to pursue an animal that has lived a good "happy" life, with plenty of excercise.
3. If you eat meat of anykind (chicken, seafood, beef, pork) and are against hunting; you are a hipocrite.
4. If noone is alowed to hunt then the wildlife populations will get so out of control that the government will have to kill these animals by the masses, and how is that moral or ethical?
5. Humans have been eating meat ever since adam and eve got thrown out of the garden. If you don't believe in that kind of thing, then we've been eating live bugs since we were apes, then graduated to eating apes once we turned into humans.
6. A lot of people find it more satisfying to know that they worked/earned the meat that they are eating and that it is much healthier for them.
7. you kill spiders, so why the moral objection to killing deer? They are both living beings.
8. The deer aren't being chased through the woods. If the hunter is really good the deer won't even know it got shot. If the hunter is just good, then the deer will only know something is wrong because they heard an unfamilier noise. If the hunter is bad, the deer will sense something wrong and run away, no human has a chance of getting that deer once that happens, unless they have a lot of time a the skills to track that specific deer for the next couple of days.
I'm not trying to convince anyone about anything I just wanted to make a few points that have to do with logic and not emotions. Everyone is entitled to there own opinion, even if those opinions just don't make sense.
