Some people say doing routine water changes on like a 55g Cichlid tank takes to much time to do a big water change on, i say differently. I use whats called a Python Syphon Vac, it connects to most household sinks, and you use the water pressure to syphon out water from the tank, then reverse the syphon to add water into the tank, it makes water changes to any fish tank a breeze.

I use it on all my tanks to do my water changes, especially my cichlid tanks when there is fry involved, due to the syphon you can hold it at the top of the tank so you dont disturb the fry or the nest, and when adding water to their tank, you set the water pressure by turning the sink on as much as you need.

These syphons come in long hose lengths, and you can buy seperate hose length to add addition footage to it, my python syphon length right now is 25 feet, which is more than enough sine i have a sink just 3 feet from my tanks. But if your nearest sink to the tanks is say 50 feet away, just pick up an additional hose to add to the syphon, it works wonders.

Grrrr I can't find anywhere in the Uk that sell pythons.

Steve.

I use a Python too. I have 4 FW tanks and 2 SW, so I don't know what I would do without one for my FW tanks. Saves a lot of time.
