Water changes for any tank

FYI, if you go to a local hardware store and buy the appropriate size hose and a barbed fitting, it would probably be cheaper than buying a, extra-special super duper official python brand hose extension,

Not to derail, but I bought a 25 foot 3/8" line that I connect to my powerhead. I place the powerhead in the tank, and the hose end in the sink and turn on the power head. Then when I feel enough water is out, I turn it off.

Then I add my prime TO THE TANK. 1 and a half cap fulls for a 75g tank.
Then I turn on the faucet so the sink fills up, then I place my powerhead in the sink so the water in the sink gets pumped to my tank.

The End. :)

yeah but... i dont know what kind of "fittings" to get.

how do i know?

i like having the python, but i wish i had two of them. that way boyfriend could be refilling the tanks while i am draining them out into the yard. it would be much faster, esp. since the water pressure is so low.

I love using the Python, especially since im getting a 55g set up on Monday. It will definitely help out on the main tank when its setup and running.

Here is a great website with a full list and sales of Python Products, from the full kits, down to the basic faucet adapters

I do the exact same thing but I leave the powerhead in the tank and connect the opposite end to the tap. Lucky for me the tap is outside threaded, so I just bought a replacement garden hose end and put it on the opposite end of the powerhead.

PAINLESS water changes to say the least.

the hose connectors you find in garden to repair the garden hose

same thread the diff is in the hardware store you can pick different size fittings)1/2" , 5/8 and 3/4 " hose

Which reminds I need to get a new thread fitting for my sink, because the one that came with my Python set up I lost it. So to the hardware store it is to find the right fitting for the sink and the hose.

i leave my plastic python adapter that attaches to the faucet on it at all times. the process of moving all my tanks into this house involved lots of me trying to keep up with that adapter. when i finally got in this house, i told my wife, "that's where the adapter stays. don't move it." and it has been there for 3 years now. if you need replacement parts like that check out thatpetplace.com .
