How often do you all do water changes / gravel vacs on your big cichlid tanks?

I typicallydo 50-75% water changes every week and gravel vac every other. Think that's enough?

i do 2x40% weekly with a good vac each time, i figure if I am going to the trouble of removing water I might as well vac as well.

Same here .............:)

I do 30-50% weekly with a thorough vac as it takes less time to vac than it does to drain and refill. I might as well make myself useful while it is going on. Besides, with Oscars and Plecos you can never have water that is too clean.

The same thing for my African tank.

Gravel vac at each water change...at least 50% each week...more likely on the overstocked tanks, they will get 2 or 3 weekly.

I see the water clarity, if it's ok it waits till the month is over, if it's getting a little too cloudy with particles then I do it earlier. But I usually don't have to. When I do it's about 50% and gravel vac each time. When it's less than a month no vac

50% Every Weekend With A Thorough Gravel Vac like msjinkzd said pulling out the water might as well vacuum up the gravel as well. 2 birds with one stone.
