Water/Filter Change?

If you just finished your cycle, you would want to do a good 50% water change to replenish trace elements, and i would be tempted to change you filter media gradually, over a month period to give the bacteria enough time to colonise the new media before all the old media has been removed...

Just an opinion...

Since I do not have an RO unit, what would be the best choice for water? Would just store bought distilled be fine? Or is there something I can put into tap water to remove the harmful parts?
