God i have to get one of these things, i have 28 tanks and still use the buckets and man thats a pain. Is it easy to move i have tanks on all three floors?
It just fastens to the sink...so you have to have a sink accessable and get the footage that will reach.
The only problem I have is it can get clogged with plant debri and I have to unplug it and empty the water out of the tube which takes a couple minutes then I'm ready to go again. But most of the time if I'm careful that it dosen't suck up large pieces it works great!

I used clear tubing instead of a hose(it was cheaper ans easier to see if it got cloged). I would not be able to take care of all my tanks with out it!

You bet it will....just add some Prime or the like (to remove/neutralize chlorine/chloramines) and whatever chemicals you want to the water as it goes back into the tank. Match the temperature (I do this by "feel", mixing a little hot with cold at the faucet..a few degrees one way or the other is fine - in fact, if I want to trigger a spawn, I use slightly colder water).
Sure you can. I have pretty disgusting city water too. Just hook it to the faucet and let the water flow into the aquarium. Fish won't react to chlorine instantly so you can wait for the aquarium to be full and then add prime (or do half before and half after its full) or some kind of dechlorinator and your fish won't care one bit.nuttylemur said:
I guess since I never had one I don't really know, but what about them is so great? I have a hose that I made from some simple plumbing parts I got at the hardware store? Why is a python so much better than just a regular hose other than you don't have to start a cyphon?

They can be pricey and sounds like you did a completely functional alternative. For me, I find the tubing more flexible than any regular hose. Since I use it upstairs and down, in four different rooms, I feel I have greater ease of movement, without the potential kinks nor the weight, even with the 75 foot length.
