Not all of them, but it's just plain sad. Now starting over, survivors, a Gourami and a Placostimus are in the hospital tank and were going out to get Eco complete for the tank. This time, before any fish go in, there will be plants, good lighting and were gonna try the fishless cycling. We have a 60 gallon tank, soft water, pH 7.2, Aqua rays (2), a Whisper filter. Can this work do you think without an under gravel filter system if the plants grow and we change the water faithfully? Will be very grateful for any response. :look:

Yes you do not need an UGF, even though I use them or RUGF on all tanks. They can be used with plants though the majority do not.

Is there a filter on your QT/hospital tank? You could move it to the new set up and assist the cycle.

even the sadder thing is gouramis and plecos can with stand anything done to a tank even very high temps. when i was living with my parents (bedroom in an unfinished basement) the furnace went out and my fish tank heater shot the temp to over a 100 and that was for almost 2 hours and my gouramis and betta neons and loaches all survived imagine that wowo good luck with the new set up

try putting some Cycle into your tank....it loads up on the good bacteria.....
