Weather Loach Problem

Dont be sorry. This is my first experience with a tank as large as this one. I am used to mollies, guppies, bettas and such. So I am a newbie in this regard. I just wish I could help the poor weather loach I have in this tank. Maybe the salt is causing his problem. When my parents had the tank they kept 2 tsp of salt for the whole 55 gal. I have no idea why. But I guess it is possible that it could be causing his problem. I will remove the goby asap and start water changes that are salt free tonite to see if it helps.

That is VERY possible. I had no idea you were permanently salting! Please, keep us posted, okay? I love dojos.

dojo loaches along with catfish and cory are scaleless fish so fish medication even at low dosages can cause harm or death, this is why we use salt treatments for these types of fish that do not have scales, just thought i would let you know.

Update

Well, it is with a heavy heart that I tell you my poor loach passed away yesterday. We did a 40% water change on Monday night, but it must have come too late for the poor little guy. Thanks for all the good advice and I have sure learned a valuable lesson.
