Well Darn it!!

Well I feel better. :thm:

I am ashamed to admit I cannot make good hash browns. I bought the "patties" from the store for this occasion. ANy tips? I think the main problem is my pan. I have nonstick cookware taht needs tossed out, the nonstick surfave is so pitted. I want good stainless, I think it would be better.

I've been prepping all the veggies and fresh fruit tonight and making homemade cinnamon rolls for the occasion too. My dad and my husband both will like it.

I will definitely try the baking powder. I make either 2 or 3 egg omelets. Maybe 1/8 tsp per omelet? Or less?

Use the baking powder...

OMG.. Good cinnamon rolls with good hot coffee?? ---mmm

That says "Good Morning"! ............

I work nights, but I'll stay up for those two in combination!

I'm a terrible cook, but my husband rocks in the kitchen. I think you have to basically "deep fry" potatos to get them crispy enough. Ya know, LOTS of cooking grease or oil in a deep pan (with a spatter shield for safety). :idea2:

Haha, don't feel bad flying. I can't cook very well either (mostly I can't cook meats because, well, I don't eat them)...good thing I'm marrying a chef in a few weeks:p

I just made gingerbread cookies:) AND they use baking powder! The stuff's ingenious;)

edit- just to clarify- this is for nursie's question. he does- I got him the ten piece set a few years ago for his birthday and he really likes it- the set's a good deal. It has a big pot, a medium pot, a sauce pot, a big cross between a skillet and a pot (I'm not sure what it is called, it's like a short wide pot) two skillets and some lids. Granted it's not exactly all- clad, but it's about a fifth of the price. It's still really nice quality, just not as light. I don't know if this is still the case- but when I got it, the sets they sold at independant kitchen stores were the same price as the chains, but Emeril wanted to give the little stores an edge so their sets had an extra plate in the bottom. How much of a difference that makes I don't know though.
