Don't let them 'under-cook' your hash browns like Perkins did to me a few weeks back! I don't know how you like them, but mine better be slighly 'crispy'!
:)
*ahem*

how could you people talk about hash browns with the potato thread still being so close behind?!?
:D

The only way to properly prepare fried eggs AND hashbrowns where I'm from (Kansas) is to fry them all in the leftover fat from the bacon you just got done frying........

MMMM, where's my pan, I'M HUNGRY!!!

aknif--that's what we call 'camp eggs', since that's about the only time we really cook breakfast. Tasty!

Camp eggs.... MMMMM!! I normally only make breakfast once a week. On Saturday or Sunday morning. (The kids would rather have their Honey Nut Cheerios anyway) But when I do make breakfast, it's gonna be Camp Eggs! I get out the big electric griddle, fry up the bacon or sausage, and then toss the hashies and eggs right in the drippings! DEEELIGHTFUL!

My hubby is a good 'ol Wyoming boy and he thought I was NUTS when I first made breakfast for him.... then he tasted it.... and yea, he married me!

:) I'm originally from Colorado. Grew up south of Denver. Started making camp eggs when I was just a wee little lass.

That wouldn't be lovely Highlands Ranch, would it??? ;-) That's where we are....

Hubby grew up in Riverton and graduated from UW.

Camp breakfast

My definition:

Fry about 1 cup ore-ida potatoes o'brien in butter, slice up a pack of brown-n-serve sausage in 1/4 inch slices & add, then make up enough scrambled eggs to cover it-usually 6 to 8. Pour the eggs over the top & cook till done.

When we have a holiday at the lake, this is my wakeup food for the family-I've made up to a triple batch at times-they can be kept in a crockpot easily.

BTW-aknif, where in Kansas did you grow up?

Hey! Another Kansas person!! :hi:

I grew up in a tiny town called Sedgwick outside of Wichita. My family are good farming people in Spearville, Medicine Lodge, Dodge City and Garden City.

:D
