If you look at the last pic of the fish, the one under where it says the white thing is the mouth, you can see how the mouth protrudes. I am pretty sure north american catfish don't have a protruding mouth. The normal catfish mouth also goes all the way across the face of the head, that one doesn't, it protrudes. Lastly, you call also see the scale pattern in the last pic. Catfish are scaleless. Since it is so dark, I am guessing it is a buffalo.i fish a lot mostly saltwater, but i know when i see a catfish mouth .the pic of the big mouth is a catfish.
