What are some hardy breeds of tetras??

Serpaes can be nippy -sometimes they just chase other fish around, sometimes they do more. I'm watching mine closely - they look awesome, but if I catch 'em nipping, they're going to trade places w/ my Pristella school.

Diamonds are hardy, get big enough that they aren't easy snacks for angelfish and the like, and are very attractive fish.

Neons, once they get over the shock of going through the whole fish-selling mill, eventually become hardy fish. But when they're small and have gone through a lot of shocks they die like flies.

Mt serpaes only seem to nip at each other and that is pretty rare. I think I will add some more to the school. Will they eat the livebearers fry?

I can second the Black Skirts as a hardy and fun fish. One of my favorites is the Pristella tetra, not the brightest tetra (in color!) but a fun and active fish that would offset your other more colorful fish.

The unfortunate thing about black skirts is that they lose their contrast and fade as they get older.

If they touch the fry I will pour gas in the tank and set it on fire.

Fry love it when you do that.

They touched the fry so I have a flaming 55 gallon now. Almost burned the house down. I need to be more careful next time.
