Don't be lazy. Proper fishkeeping takes work; cleaning, regular water changes, researching the needs of the plants and critters. The tank looks better and the fish are happier when they're little world is clean and healthy.
Watch your fish and enjoy them whenever possible. Keep some sort of meds around and salts on hand for the just in case problems. Always keep water clean and equipment running tip top.
Hmm...like what? Let's hear some examples...besides the flyorama diorama.
My hero would be bamboo skewers. I have a little hook on the end of one which I use for picking up things (such as clothespins!) in tanks. I use them to get the mineral grime and bits of flake out from under the lips of hoods and to push wadded up cloth through filter tubes. I use them to impale vegetables for the plec, goldfishes and catfishes...
Try to get a spare filter doesnt have to be huge just something to run incase your main one goes down, hemostats, razor blades and I use timers on all my tanks lighting and WC's like everybody else has said
