What color background is better?

Which is the best color for the backgorund of a fish tank?

Well, my Dad put 3 coats of black enamel on the back of my 90-so I guess it is black for me LOL. Really though he would have painted it pink if I wanted, but all the cool tanks I have seen were black.
 
Mine is black with slate and wood on the back. I'll post a pic in a minute.

I'm currently using black in my planted community and I'm pretty happy with it...so it's black all the way. Unless you are keeping male Betta's...the black offers a reflection thru the glass, causing the Betta's to spend the whole day flaring. Not ideal.

Also, I see white and light blue becoming the more preferred colours among the 'scaper crowd. It seems the lighter tones help with the illusion of depth-of-field.
 
I painted my 90 forest green. I wanted something different than everyone else's. It turned out really nice. It's a dark green and all the fish really stand out. Plus with the light colored sand , all looks good.
 
I really like black. I have it in my 110, and have white crushed coral for a subtrate.:)
