What do i do with a fish bully?

Danios are cheap enough. Buy another 3 or 4. Maybe he won't be as aggressive.

The winter temperatures here will kill the danio in an outdoor pond. I know danios can go in lower temperatures than most tropicals, but last year we got down to the 30s in the Sacramento area

I know, last year and this year in winter my duck pond froze!! It was a thin layer of ice on the duck pond tho, and the my gold fish pond was at a temp of about 45F Can danios be in a 45F pond? If they cant i wont be getting any other danios, maybe a few cool cold water fish but thats it. What kind of fish can be kept in a temp of at least 50F? Thanks! Oh yeah and so far the danio is still alive and doing great in the pond. oh yeah, my pond NEVER ever froze before.

I think the lower limit for danios is 65F. I know people in Sacramento who keep goldfish outdoors over the winter, but that's about it.

OMG. I'm not sure if this is a terrible or great thread... I'm so conflicted!

OP- a single Danio has no business in any tank. A proper group can't be kept in a 10G.

Your "pond" is probably overstocked as it is and the Danio would just be tortured by going into it. The poor fish is better off getting clove oil than going into it.

LMAO at someone paying shipping.

The most humane thng I read was feeding it to an Oscar... :mad2:

well i say this is a terrible thread because regardless of any advice we give the OP, he does something completely different anyway. i think he just enjoys asking questions for pits and giggles.

Danios need groups, no it won't survive at 45F, and i hate to say it but at this point i agree that feeding it to an oscar would be the most humane action...have you tried calling other fish stores or just get discouraged after 1 said no? and btw, just because a fish store says they can't take in a fish doesn't mean they don't care about the fish or the animal, it just means they do not have the capacity to keep an extra fish or don't want to risk infecting their own animals which they are selling (and staking a reputation on) so please keep that in mind.
