What do you do for a living?

age - old enough to know better! lol
I work for a garbage company as a Route Manager for two cities. I've been in the business for 21 years and love it. I make a great wage, have excellent benefits and a super boss! I love my job and can't imagine doing anything else!

Military trainer (I'm a civilian), specializing as a Urban warfare expert and Convoy defense and counter ambush instructor. Looking for a position that keeps me in the country though

ohh I'm 33

Im 31, and entering my 10th year as a Police Officer. I work for Dallas County and EARN bout 50k. I earn bout 10k-12k working extra security in and around Dallas (one of the top three crime cities in america). My advice is find something you love and do it, and find a wife who makes twice what you do! Also, read the Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. It teaches you how to build weath and stay out of debt.

I'm 40, and professionally, I am a pet groomer and dog trainer. I quit full time work about 6 years ago but was making about $40,000 then.

I a stay at home mother to 3 young children. We're homeschooling the 6 year old.

From my observations, the pet care industry has two levels, the real professionals and the rest of them. Large box stores have not done much to educate the consumer about their dog's care or much to better the skill level of groomers.

I still groom at home for some select clients. It's a nice way to make a little extra cash.

57 and I've had a very varied work history. Fresh out of high school and planning to go to college and study marine biology with cetology as my interest, instead I fell in love and married a guy that didn't want me to go to school or work outside the home.

I agreed to do this, but later financial circumstances required I go to work. I sold insurance, worked for a physician, went to work at a water themed amusement park. Became the director of marketing and sales for the park, also trained as EMT and wore that hat as well as others at the water park.

Husband's job transferred him from Northwest Louisiana to Dallas Fort Worth. Studied and became board certified optician. Did this for many years, and yearned to put my artistic side to work, so I left that and now, drive a school bus (which is essentially a part time job) and do art by commission, murals, and have a jewelry making business. Happier than ever doing something I love. According to my family I wasted my IQ, but I'm happy and have comfortable life. Doing what you enjoy is the most important thing. Only thing that I would change is that I could be even happier on the Patagonian coast studying whales, totally obsessed and loving it.
