What Do You Feed Your Dog(s)?

Just going by what the vet said. We took him in when he first got him. He had really weepy eyes and was snorting way more than a reg pug should. He asked him what he was eating. The previous owners had him on Purina. We, of course, switched him right away. All of his symptoms cleared up. When we went away last year on vaca, he stayed with some friends of ours. I didn't think to tell them about his allergy because we were providing them with his food anyways. They ended up giving him some crap treats that were corn based. Same thing started up again. His eyes started "crying" and he got all snuffly. *shrug*

My dog does not snack on poo but he does love to snatch those red wigglers that have dried up on the pavement! Occasionally the fresh ones too! (one time he ate so many worms - without my knowledge, of course - he pooped red and I thought he was bleeding.....just the worms!)

I have 2 dogs. My oldest dog is 8 and she has trouble being on most dry dog foods. They only thing we found that didn't make her throw up is called Nature's Recipe, fish& potato. She's been on that for a long time and rarely throws up. My other dog is on it too so they don't try to steal from each other.

I agree with the above about researching dog food. Most of the time vets are paid to push foods like Science diet, which isn't the best stuff out there. It's better to research for yourself and make sure there are no fillers.

As a treat we have some raw patties they like, and they get carrots.

Does that work on cat poo eating dogs? That is my dogs particular problem!

I think I'll try it! I could actually quite hiding the cat box!

Regards,
TA

mmmmm, "Kitty Roca". I had a dog that did this all the time and she got sooo fat!

Smaller Dogs... Chihuahuas, shih-tzu, you know- all your general "rat-dog" breeds...

;)

What- why the uproar- people feed smaller fish to bigger fish all the time! :)

I AM kidding of course and don't mean to offend anyone. Wish I had a dog- can't afford to put a fence up at the moment though and I don't think it would be fair to keep one couped up in the house all day. So it'll be a few years until I can get one... and no, I won't really feed it smaller dogs.
