what do you think is the best schooling fish

Buenos aires tetras. Can be evil towards tankmates, and not realy a tight schooler (when they school at all), however, feeding is always a sight to behold, they move fast enough to keep the tank "moving" whole not being nerveracking. There colours also rival some rainbows as they mature and conditions are right.

Congo tetras look amazing when they get bigger i love the iridescence

My vote goes to the Puntius denisonii aka
Red-Lined Torpedo Barb or aka Rose Line Shark. They are cool but very pricey $25.00+ each.

I agree with Harlequin Rasboras. They form schools no matter how many individuals there are (with the exception of one, of course :P)

They're more expensive here. Can't remember exactly how much they were, but I think it was around $40 each. Pretty though.

I've found them on the net for $25.00, and in stock!

Tiger barbs. I have a school of 12 in my 55G and they look really cool swimming together around the tank.

Big als here had alot of red lines in stock until all 3 tanks got some kind of fungus and they lost most of them lol sucks, they were selling them for 25 bucks a pop

I would have to say the schooling fish i love the most would have to be cardinal tetras

I've had bleeding heart tetras, pristella tetras, rummy nose tetras, danios, tiger barbs, neons, white clouds, and a bunch of other schooling fish. All schooled somewhat when younger but as they aged became lazy and didn't school much (especially the bleeding hearts). By far the best schoolers have been rummy nose tetras, however, I have also had the most trouble acclimating them. They can be somewhat delicate and it doesn't help that I am an hour from the fish store. But it's well worth for what they add to the tank. I have six (I've bought 10 or so) and want to eventually have at least a dozen.
