What do you think the most underrated "common" fish is?

I'd say platys, they have so much personality.

i still say cons!!! my 7 cons i have are GORGOUS!!!! didnt really realize how much color they had tell i shined a flashlight on them and WOW arent they colorful!! and full of personality!!

Common goldfish and comets. They are beautiful but no one wants them

Definitely common/fancy goldfish. Big beautiful fish with great personalities and nobody has any respect for them.

My second choice would be North American native species, like darters, shiners, etc. Most people in the hobby aren't even aware of them.

platies by far.

I'm going to ditto this. When I had fish years ago, I was never interested in platy because they were so "common". However, I now have a nice mix of platy in my 27 hex, along with a small school of neon tetra and some peppered cory. It was a pretty cheap tank to stock, easy to keep and it is always soooo active, fun to watch and colorful. I love it!

But then I'm just a newb, so take what I say with a grain of salt.
