What food would be best?

Dang, cheapskate. ;) It is only 21.99 for a big flat pack of it at my LFS and that will last me 2 months with 14 fish in my 75G. My coral food cost more than that each month, $40 a month for a bottle of Phytofeast and Rotifeast.

My fish are quite happy with a combination of shrimp pellets and flake, suplemented ocassionally with frozen mysis. (My cleaner shrimp eats them otu of my hand :) )

Right now i'm also trying to let a few of the chef's at my work hand me the scraps of scallops and calamari, just so i can use those too (raw, mind you..Would never use breaded and fried.)

In reality, smalelr fish like those can live healthily on basic flakes and pellets. is it ideal? no, but they can.

Hey guys,

I was just wondering your opinions on this food, if any of you guys have ever tried it in your tanks. It is the omega one marine flakes http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2753187
I'm just wondering if also there are any other foods you would reccomend on the petsmart site because I like getting things like this there because of their online price match.

Thanks!

Oh well I just looked at petco. I think I am going to go and buy from there, either the Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef, or the Formula 2 pellets. Which of the two would you recommend?

Variety is the spice of life. Buy them both.

Well, I went to petco and today I only got the prime reef flakes by ocean nutrition. I put some flakes in my tank, and the blue/green chromis ate it, and then spit it out. What is the best way to get them to eat the flakes?

can anyone comment on this please?
thanks.

Mix the flakes with a little bit of better stuff like myssis and brine shrimp. Remember they need a vairiety of different foods in order to thrive.
Maybe try soaking the flakes in garlic extreme. I have never used garlic so I really don't know for sure.

any one else also have some suggestions?
Thanks skippy
