What food would be best?

well, now I tried feeding them some formula two pellets by ocean nutrition, and they eat it, and spit it out. I really need some suggestions on what I can do. They won't eat flakes nor pellets, only the frozen brine shrimp I've given them...

Stop giving the the option for a little while. Only feed the pellets. Try not feeding brine for a couple of days. If they are still not eating the pellets after a few days, then go back to regular feeding. Remember though, if you only feed brine shrimp, you fish will not be getting the nutrition they need and will suffer from it!

Think of it this way, you give children only candy and junk food to eat, they kinda get used to it. Try to feed them any green stuff or anything good for them and they aren't going to like it too much. I second the suggestion to only give them the option of other foods and not brine.

alright I will try that. I will cut off the brine for a few days, and only feed the pellets, and see what happens. If they still don't eat it, I guess I will just feed them a combination of brine and mysis shrimp (frozen); would that be fine?

preferably still more variety. They are omnivores so a diet strictly of meats is not optimal. Will they eat plain frozen mysis shrimp? If so, I'd skip the brine altogether.

well. they have not been fed for a day and a half now, and I put in some of my old betta food, or the HBH betta colorbright flakes, and they ate it. Even though this is not made for marine fish, would it suit the fish I am feeding? In addition, I could feed some wardley essential topical premium flakes. The betta food has protein 38%, fat 10%, fiber 4%, and moisture 8%. The food ingredients consists of many meaty products, viatmins, and some greens such as beet powder and spirulina powder. Overall, their diet would be the betta colorbright flakes, wardley tropical flakes, and frozen brine shrimp. How does this sound?

I doesn't sound good. it's better than a fish starving to death, but still not something that is good or nutritious.

Hey, look in a marine fish book and see what they eat in the wild and try to give them the same, but most flake food is pretty decent, it has the basic vitamins they need. In the wild though they do scrounge alot, they say that most things floating in the water column go through at least 3 fish stomachs. My fish would probably try eating a spare tire. Anyways keep it simple.

I would try Frozen Formula One or Two (both worked best for me) by Ocean Nutrition. They sell it at Petco as I just bought some today for my brackish Anableps. My fish always loved the frozen Form One, Form 2, Prime Reef, and Trigger Formula. Anyway hope this helps and good luck!
