Welp, I'm going to go to the reptile show in Raleigh NC to pick up my 125g W Glasscages aquarium, and once I get it moved into the house I'll probably make a ton of margaritas with chips and salsa!!!!
Is that a rhetorical question? Most people think that it is Mexican Independence day but instead it commemorates the victory of Mexican forces led by General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguin over the French occupational forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.
In the US it is an excuse to drink lots of Coronas or margaritas and eat Mexican food.
Exactly. It's an excuse for white people in the United States to get drunk. My husband is Mexican and manages a Mexican restaurant. He hates Cinco de Mayo. I probably won't see him that day. He'll be working from 10 AM - 2 AM.
Man I get to miss MY holiday and go play "army" stupid reserves....
Last year I went down to chapell hill NC with some Marine buddys and got BLASTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ended up going to my g.f. house 2 hours away (there was a DD) and I refused to get out of the house saying "I dont care if your the FU..... Pope!! Im staying in the car"... lol g/f had to come get me as were I replied "Hey I know you, and Ive been in this house before"....(My own house)LOL ....sigh.... now I am not even going to even enjoy the mexican food.
People in the US don't need an excuse to drink! My stepson is a waiter/bar tender. People go into his restaurant and say they're celebrating it being whatever day of the week it is!
Anyway - I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Hubby and I pick up our new 55 gal tank
