squirrels arent rodents, theyre pachyderms.
Rodents = mammals
Humans = mammals
Rodents = Humans
Humans are the smartest rodents...?

I know which is the smartest, I used to keep them as pets.

Rodents all have continuously growing gnawing teeth, are primarily herbivores or granivores and are not hares/rabbits/pikas (lagomorph family). Raccoons have canine-like teeth adapted to eating everything - opossums have that & they've pouches too (N.A.'s only marsupial).

Maybe you're confusing "Rodent" w/ "Varmint"?

Taxonomically speaking... rodents and lagomorphs belong to the same clade (Glires). It can be argued that clade Glires is not a unique taxonomic entity and that rabbits and hares are indeed considered rodents. It can also be argued that lagomorphs are not rodentia. It's 50/50 and pick 'em.

However, Squirrels ARE rodents.

A brief list of the families of order rodentia: (from Wiki)
This isn't all of them, but most of them. The last family includes squirrels.
