def a real fish, you can google it! Synspilum/ Vieja synspila/ Red head cichlids is one of the most beautiful south/ central american cichlids out there if cared for right. They can sometimre be real mean, but gorgeous none the less.

Now that I've looked at this fish (vieja malanurus) and the (synspilum) I believe he might be a hybrid of both these fish.

go to tangled up in cichlids on the main page scroll down youll see a Vieja melanurus and it looks ALOT like yours. Either way still a nice looking fish
