I went to Monterey yesterday and while walking on the beach I came across a bunch of these really neat rocks with holes in them. I'm hoping they pass the vinegar test because I think they would look SWEET in my soon to be shellie tank, but I'd still like to see if anyone knows what kind they are. Thanks!
This is what I found, i'm pretty sure this is what they are:
[SIZE=-1]Holey Stone aka Odin Stone - Usually a soft stone with naturally occurring holes, that were produced by erosion, wind, wave action and/or sea creatures, not man made! The holes in the stones were created by the Earth Mother herself and all are one of a kind. These stones were hand picked, on a beach in Northern California and still smell of the sea! Some of them still have the shells from the sea creatures that made the holes. - They are stones of protection and strengthening of mind. They can also help enhance psychic abilities. They are helpful in preventing nightmares when hung or placed by the bed. Hanging one near where a pet sleeps helps guard it as well. When hung or placed in homes or vehicles they offer protection from harm for all who reside or travel within. When placed on an Altar they offer a perfect vessel for creating a link to the Earth Mother and her water spirits. They have also been used to help rid the body of dis-ease by drawing it out and absorbing it. After being used for healing please cleanse the stones before using them again.
