Reef Crystals all the way....the lack of buffering needed was the main thing that made me stick with them..

Niko

Niko hit it on the head, I forgot about that one, I never have to add buffer to my 100 gallon. Doing my water changes every two weeks my PH never dips below 8.2. I dose calcium pretty much every day, but iodine and other trace elements, only once or twice a week.

Oceanic for me. I started buying it because it is sold in small bags here and I can't afford to drop all that cash on a bucket of salt all at once. I'd read about algae issues with IO so I decided to skip that. When I tried Oceanic I was impressed with it, so I am sticking to it.

Been using Instant Ocean the whole time, until I needed salt and everyone was out of Instant Ocean... so I am using my first bag of Reef Crystals. seems good!

I use reef crystal

Ii purchase the mixes on line from Dr fosters and smith.
I can get 4 bags for the same price shipping..i buy the bags as they are easier to store. the crystals sel for about $11.99 per bag and the shipping is based on $ not wt

I use Tropic Marin Pro Reef. I just like the way it mixes. The old stuff left a residue on everything and I didn't like that. I do use RO/DI water from the LFS and mix it in a bucket before use. I do have to buffer a little. Once I started using it, the tank just seemed to 'wake up' a little. The coralline algae took off too. It just seems better.

Thanks.
