what plant substrate do you use?

Playsand in my 3 ten's and 125, flourite black sand in the 30. I like playsand the best but used the black in the 30 because I have neons and cardinals and with the white sand they didn't show very well.
Anybody use the subsrate from aquariumplants.com (http://www.aquariumplants.com/Freshwater_Aquarium_Plant_Substrate_p/ss.htm)? I'm about to buy 12 gallons of the stuff myself for my 150 gallon tank.
For my first planted tank, I used generic gravel. Not the pea sized kind either. When I first set it up, I didn't even consider putting in live plants. I'm guessing thats the reason why it took a while for my plants to finally start thriving.

Not worth it. It is almost identical to turface/soilmaster select, I've read.
For the quantity you're buying, ADA aquasoil isn't much more expensive.
Is Aquasoil really that much better? While it's only a little more expensive than Aquariumplants, the cost of shipping it to me might negate that.
A 9 liter bag of Aqua Soil Amazonian II is $28 at http://www.adgshop.com/. 12 dry U.S. gallons is about 53 liters, so I'll need about 6 bags which is $168. The cost to ship that to me in MD would be $67.35 via UPS ground, making for a grand total of $235.35.
12 gallons of the Aquariumplants stuff is $150 and shipping is free.
So $85 difference. Is the quality worth the $85?
