What tall grass like plants can be grown in 1.8wpg?

I tried vals once they just died but I only had 1.3 wpg maybe i can try again I haven't tried because I did not think I had enough light for them........And dont the dwarf sags stay pretty small? I want something more for the backgrounded........
how much light do dwarf sag need? what type of val would be good in this light or does it matter? I also have african cichlids......

I have had Sags growing in 1.5 WPG. I grow my Vals in 2.2 WPG, but I've seen them grow in lower light.
vals would be great with africans since they will not eat it. Almost any val will grow at that light
I think most vals would do pretty well in that lighting and they also like harder water than most aquarium plants. I would lean toward jungle val as it is thick and may be more resistent to getting uprooted or munched by the fish.
