What was your first car? What would you choose as a first car for a teen?

well my first was a 2000 mercury cougar v6. i loved that car, stupid girl in a honda hit me and ruined it. then i had a 2004 f150 fx4, loved the truck, huge, awesome stereo, but was too expensive to drive, sucked gas like a mofo. then a 2004 chevy blazer, which now lives at my second home in chicago, my mom drives it in the winter. great car but never got over 20mpg. now my current car is a 2005 jeep grand cherokee 4x2. i love it here in california, great car, comfy, safe, can go camping with it no problem. best car ive owned so far. but my next car is gonna be a second car and a second cougar since they are getting cheaper. like now about 3-4k here for a low mileage one.

My first car was a 77 Plymouth Volare, not a cool car but it ran well and had low miles. You should get a Consumer Reports buying guide before you get a car and do your research. It will save you money and stress if you buy something more reliable.Toyota and Honda are usually the most reliable makes.

Lol, my dad is always telling me how his sonata has no horsepower. But it isnt that bad at around 140hp. Of course, he has driven a nascar and now wants a mustang, charger, or challenger.

My mom told stories about how her friends mom had a car that was missing flooring in the rear seats so you had to be careful with your feet and if they went through snow or water it would splash up and hit them.

My friend said in his drivers ed class the teacher showed a pic of someone who stuck a house window air conditioner in the passenger window.

As long as the car runs, isnt duck taped together, and the wheel doesnt go crazy when you tap the break, it would probably be fine to me. Ac and heat would be really good to have as well with the crazy weather going on the past year and a half. It was hotter in IL than it was when I went to florida last month.
Imagine a 60 hp VW!

Everyone seems to act like cars like ^^^ arent great looking. While I much prefer modern cars looks, I would rather have an older nice car, than a car from the early 2000's that all look the same, and really dont seem like they will be missed or searched for in 30 years. My friends buick sure doesnt look great, but you get in it, and it is comfortable. After a long trip, you wont be complaining that your bum hurts from all of the sitting in the car. Looks dont matter if you like the car. Lamborghini's are cool and all, but you dont want to go on a trip in one other than for the rush you get from driving one. If I had to choose between driving my friends buick or my brothers friends dads (I know, long chain there) lambo for a long trip, I would chose the buick for pure comfort. Your gonna hit traffic at some point, 600 horse power dont help you there, and you wish you had a pillow to sit on.

What year?

I dont remember.

So my cousin (moved in yesterday) and a bunch of other people on my moms side of the family were all in the envoy with my mom and I going to ikea. It seems like my mom is set on getting a new car for herself and me possibly getting the envoy to use because she wants to keep it for when we go on vacation and for the winter. But my dad has to go the furthest distance in the worst weather (earliest in the morning), so that means he might would switch with me once in a while in the winter. My dad sees better out of the sonata (he is tall) and it is generally more comfortable to him. He hasnt taken great care of it, so my mom sees no reason that he deserves to get a nice car. One time he was driving his boss around and she was wearing high heels. She got out and there was something she thought was a paper towel and a cookie on her heel. It turned out to be a toaster waffle he didnt eat. He also had peanut butter on the inside part of the windshield.

To be honest, I would rather have the envoy than an older regular car. It is comfortable to me, has bose audio, and 4wd for winter. Not too bad at 90k miles. Paid both cars off last month. And with what little distances I would be going, the gas mileage isnt too much of a difference.

This was what my first car looked like .1969 Pontiac Le Mans. Payed $1000.00 bucks for it when it had 30 k miles on it. If I only had it now it would be worth way more :) It was my mom's car .
