Oh, I didn't share them all...
Me neither!!!! Some are not even believable! I will admit that I must learn to watch the python more closely when I prop it into the tanks and refill and then get on with multitasking while the tank is filling. It's pretty much a firehouse hose-down once the python pops out of the tank :lipssealedsmilie:

--I'm a big fan of KMnO4 and use it all the time:
soak live plants to get rid of hitchhikers
nuke a tank that's getting a makeover
treat sick fish with a mild solution in a QT
--On top of my Dutch Aquarium, bathed in humidity and under high intensity lights, I flowered orchids, which I was more interested in than the tank.
--I've euthanized fish with good vodka.

I'm afraid I don't live out on the hairy edge like a lot of people with my tanks lol
-50% weekly water changes on all tanks whether they need it or not (more on fry/growout tanks)
-strict 4 week minimum quarantine on any and all new fish
-all filters contain lava rock for biomedia and polyfill for mech media which gets changed weekly
-I use a garden hose to empty and drain tanks. I've never owned a python.
-canister filters get cleaned maybe 4 times a year.
-i've used RFUG, canisters, HOB, wet/dry, and sponge/bubble-up box filters...I've found they all have an appropriate use
-I don't use RO water for my reef (although I'm planning on starting as soon as I install a system)
-most of my tanks do not have heaters - heated by ambient room heat (small enclosed space)
-i try to understock my tanks, and usually end up giving minimum tank sizes way larger than most people would

Yes, potassium permang. can be highly effective but man that stuff is nasty. I hope you're using all necessary precautions when you work with it... certainly not something you want to get on your skin
