What would you like to see in a lfs?

I like the idea of having established filter media available to new owners. Not only will it spare them a lot of frustration, it will increase sales for the LFS because they won't give up on the hobby out of frustration with new tank syndrome.

i've never seen any at the chain fish stores near me.. umm hold on i'll think of a list then again it can't really be stuff that are too expensive huh?

And if i were you, i would have him carry alot of differant live plants as well because the chains don't even carry java fern and java moss :/ they really do have a poor selection, even online. the chains i mean.

I like to see a wide selection of fish in clean / well maintained tanks, a nice selection of meds and food, and things like drift wood and natural rock. I'd rather not see puppies and kittens for sale... Our local "LFS" sells shih-tzu-ISH puppies for $1,000 and I probably will not be returning based on that (selling them as purebred, and I have raised enough shih-tzu's to know they sure were not).
