I never really found Weather Loaches all that difficult. Mine is pretty easy to sneak up on with the net. Just have to keep recatching it until it gets tired of leaping out of the net (never seen a fish so good at doing that :swear

I can top all of your stories.
During Christmas Vacation I had just set-up and started cycling (with danios + red eyes) my new 37 gallon, and was sleeping on the couch directly next to it. I awoke to the screams of my parents, as 37 gallons began gushing onto the floor. We had buckets and blankets everywhere, and were still having a hard time soaking it up, when I realized there was still fish in it. So, I had to climb up on my now soaked and slippery couch to reach behind the big rock formation and into the tank where the fish were hiding (tank is 22" high, plus a high stand) As I was doing this water was pouring out everywhere, and the danios were zipping around the tank like crazy. I ended up catching and saving them with only inches of water left, and still have those fish. What a collosol PITA.

ACK! I can't even imagine. So the fish survived, but how about the couch lol?
It reminds me of when I first started working at my LFS. We'd just received a bag of 300 2" feeder comet goldfish. One of my coworkers lifted the bag (about the size of a kitchen trash bag) by the wrong end and all 300 goldfish spilled out onto the floor in a gush of water. They were everywhere... All over the floor and under the fish tank unit (which can't be moved). We spent about an hour picking goldfish... first scooping up dozens at a time with the net, then the strays by hand, and finally pushing the rest out from under the tank unit using water and a yard stick! Surprisingly, most survived and only about a dozen died!

I agree with you completely, Fishlock. Getting my Pictus catfish out of the tank using a plastic bowl was awful. I had to do that to get the pieces of net off his barbs from the last time he was caught. Panda cories are tough too.

I'm lucky, I didn't have any furniture ruined when my 14.5g leaked (and of course the filter exploded at the same time :nilly
, if I had it would have been the tv since it was right next to it! It been going on for a few hours before I found it.The fish weren't too hard to catch, the shrimp are another story.
I had just bought 2 dwarf gouramis 3 days before, they were bit traumatized. :grinyes:
