No thanks, maybe Mojo would have room in his pond.

PS....the above statement was a joke of course, as is my username....what kind of person SERIOUSLY has a name like 2 Oscars in 5G....

My step-daughter, who, despite all of my begging and pleading, put a JD and an oscar in a 20, "Just until I can do something better."
:(

Yeah, that's what I figured.

meanest fish

There are no "mean" fish. Some are misunderstood, unfairly stereotyped, and forced to resort to anti-social activity to survive. Even the Giant Sabertoothed Death Adder Hagfish will respond to kindness, though it may take some time, and perhaps an arm, before they trust you. Eventually, they can be weaned off their normal diet of endangered tortoises, puppies, and children splashing in the surf. A little effort and love can result in a vegan Giant Sabertoothed Death Adder Hagfish, content with green veggies and soy yoghurt as its principal sources of nutrition.

On the other hand, I did once have nasty Opah that refused to stop speaking loudly on its cell phone in public, and waving its fins as though it were in the privacy of its own home, acting churlishly when reminded that talking loudly into a piece of plastic in public is the equivalent of urinating in the street. I finally had to kill that fish.

MEAN AS HELL

You may want to take a look at this. http://predatoryfish.net/ibforums/ These guys seem to deal with what you are looking for.

SAMPLE: Otheris, Otheri

Max. size: 67.0 cm TL
Environment: demersal; freshwater; brackish; full salt water
Climate: tropical; 24 - 26°C to near freezing

Distribution:
Worlwide.
Biology: Inhabits large rivers and lakes . Also occurs in estuaries.
Dangerous: Extreme caution!!!

Description: razor sharp teeth, scales like metal armor. glowing red eyes.

Maintenance: This fish must be kept on its own in a secure aquarium!! Caretakers of this fish must take extreme measures when doing tank maintanence. Most invest in a pair of welders gloves for water changes.
No heater, filter, air pumps are required. Change water once a year, and keep lid weighted down with 100 pounds or more.

Feeding: Anything and everything. I once had one that ate itself!

Personal observations:

Ok, this fish is THE MEANEST fish on the planet.
Hareball-"this fish just jumped out...it got in my salt water tank and killed everything, and ate my live rock. Im scared to go into my room now".
Mojo-"I swear it was going for my crotch!"
Ed-"I screamed like a little girl!"
narc- "it made me eat my own #%$&! "
Bill-"it beat the #%$& out of me, then it crapped on me!"
This fish can beat up all other fishes. There is no competition. Period.

I agree. I watched a video of one of their member's peacock bass feeding. They are absolutely ruthless at feeding time! It's far from an ugly fish, which is also a perk.

Wolffish are nocturnal. They just pretty much lay around.

Wolf fish. There's someone on the forum named wolf fish lover (or something similar...) and a while back he posted information on them and WOW they sound (and look!!) scary!!

Keep the tank very dim during the day, and feed them during the day (starting with juveniles, of course), and they'll be active during the day.

Of course, active for a wolf fish is just sitting around for a while, then sitting somewhere else, then eating any other fish that ventures into its tank, then stretching its jaws, and more sitting.

Then for no good reason they'll dump half a gallon of water on your floor. :D

Seriously, though. They are very cool, but you have to be willing to accept the fact that they're rather sedentary, drab colored, and require large volumes of meaty foods. Mine have been conditioned to eat shrimp from the grocery store, though, so it's not so bad. A few weeks ago they got a bunch of convict cichlids for a treat.
