I tend to agree with most of what's posted here so far. It is how you raise your kids, and its is about picking your battles to fight with them. Some are tough and those are the improtant ones.
In the old west when everyone carried guns, it was not the deterrant that you might think. The criminals knew everyone was armed..and then it was a matter of who was a better shot, or who would shoot to kill.
It all comes back to the moral fiber of a person. There are people who have had sucko parents...and lived in poor environments who have risen above them to be straight arrows...there are those who have the best parents and every advantage who are heinous criminals. I have got to believe there is something in that parental upbringing that inspires the person to either grow up "right" or "wrong"...but exactly what it is I don't know. I just know I figured it out for my kids.
