One friday night my brother came over. His GF was out of town, as was my roomate, and most of our friends. We lived in south lake tahoe. He walked in the house and asked if I wanted to go camping. All he had was 2 cans of chili and some....(PM me and ask). I had 4 sausages and half a bottle of jim beam whiskey. We got out fishing poles (no bait) and drove out to the Carson river. Cought crickets and tried for brookies. We both cought two 6 inchers. Not being much to eat fish, we let them go. Found a spot at the amethyst mines off Rte 88 near spooner summit and rolled out our bags. We got a fire going, heated up one can of chili, and used the sausages as spoons as we passed the can between us. He had a Grateful Dead album playing in his car, and just as the sun was setting "to lay me down" came on. My brother and I said very little to eachother that night. Content to silently share the wilderness together in silence. Warmed from the whiskey and the fire, we both slept atop our bedrolls spread on bare earth, a moonless night with stars by the millions. We were in an area thick with ponderosa pine, a small creek sung an endless luliby only a few feet away. When we woke, we ate the other can of chili and sausages in the same fassion as the night before. That day, we drove to a spot further down the Carson and tried our luck with beetles we found near the bank. We didnt catch a thing that day, but were happy none the less.
One that comes close is another fishing trip with my bro. We went to the east bank of bocca lake on a foggy morning at 4AM. We couldnt see but mabey 10 feet. Didnt catch any fish. However, while we were waiting, a bald eagle was glidding over the lake(he was fishing too

By the time he saw us, he was close enough we could have touched him. He went over our heads and was gone as fast as he came. We continued fishing for a while, and when the fog started to lift, we got up to leave. On the walk back to the car, I found a feather. I found out later it was from a bald eagle. I like to believe the eagle gave it to my brother and I as a sign of respect for, or mabey an appology to, his fellow fishermen. From the car, as we were loading up, we saw him dive and come up with a nice sized trout. "nice catch" my nrother said. And I nodded my agreeance.
