Mine is when I was galloping on a horse on a beach at sunset. She also had a baby (well, not that young, but cute and small) who was keeping up with us :)

It was definitely a spiritual experience and one that I will treasure forever.

What's yours?

About 12 years ago I lived in an artist's loft community while I was working as a photographer. For several years I was surrounded by the nicest and most interesting creative artists. Each morning I would find notes under my door from neighbours, inviting me to dinner or a party that week. I was surrounded by handsome men who lived in the same building and I was lucky enough to be juggling 3 boyfriends at the time. Eventually I hooked up with a a socially-conscious theatre group and I perfomed in a production that addressed some really important and serious issues about domestic violence in society, which was eventually filmed for TV. The loft itself was beautiful and had huge windows that let in moonlight that was so bright I could read a book by it! Many of my memories of that time were magical, although often blurry from too much wine!

Mine would be when My wife an I had our baby. My wife has indometerosis which means becoming pregnant is a lot harder and almost impossible so after 6 years of trying we got our Miracle Baby Haileigh so when the doctor said you are pregnant that was the happiest day of my life. When she had the baby I would have to say that is the most memarable so far.

Honestly its hard to pick just one. Most of my child hood is my favorite memory. I miss being a kid so much. This adult stuff just isn't as fun. I remember being a kid and wanting to grow up though and adults telling me cherish your childhood while you can. Now I know what they where talking about.
If I had to pick though it would probably be my wedding day. It all went so fast and it was such a blur but it was wonderfull. My wife and I had been together 5 years and had been engaged for 4 so it was great to finally tie the knot. I also got to marry my best friend which was also awesome.

oh, those stories are all wonderful. Akapaul and fish_freak definitely sound like devoted fathers and husbands. Ms B, I love retreats like those. There's something magical about being in a remote locale with people of similar interests. My boyfriend calls them my "fish camp" experiences, and is very jealous of the people I meet there :)

One friday night my brother came over. His GF was out of town, as was my roomate, and most of our friends. We lived in south lake tahoe. He walked in the house and asked if I wanted to go camping. All he had was 2 cans of chili and some....(PM me and ask). I had 4 sausages and half a bottle of jim beam whiskey. We got out fishing poles (no bait) and drove out to the Carson river. Cought crickets and tried for brookies. We both cought two 6 inchers. Not being much to eat fish, we let them go. Found a spot at the amethyst mines off Rte 88 near spooner summit and rolled out our bags. We got a fire going, heated up one can of chili, and used the sausages as spoons as we passed the can between us. He had a Grateful Dead album playing in his car, and just as the sun was setting "to lay me down" came on. My brother and I said very little to eachother that night. Content to silently share the wilderness together in silence. Warmed from the whiskey and the fire, we both slept atop our bedrolls spread on bare earth, a moonless night with stars by the millions. We were in an area thick with ponderosa pine, a small creek sung an endless luliby only a few feet away. When we woke, we ate the other can of chili and sausages in the same fassion as the night before. That day, we drove to a spot further down the Carson and tried our luck with beetles we found near the bank. We didnt catch a thing that day, but were happy none the less.

One that comes close is another fishing trip with my bro. We went to the east bank of bocca lake on a foggy morning at 4AM. We couldnt see but mabey 10 feet. Didnt catch any fish. However, while we were waiting, a bald eagle was glidding over the lake(he was fishing too :p:) By the time he saw us, he was close enough we could have touched him. He went over our heads and was gone as fast as he came. We continued fishing for a while, and when the fog started to lift, we got up to leave. On the walk back to the car, I found a feather. I found out later it was from a bald eagle. I like to believe the eagle gave it to my brother and I as a sign of respect for, or mabey an appology to, his fellow fishermen. From the car, as we were loading up, we saw him dive and come up with a nice sized trout. "nice catch" my nrother said. And I nodded my agreeance.

well written, SF! I especially like the second story. It sounded like it could have been from an outdoors magazine :)
