fisrt off i was feeding my fish yesterday and noticed my bushynose pleco lying belly up on the bottom so i got the net fished his lil butt out and upon inspection my africans ate out his eyes... so now this afternoon i awken from my sunday slumber and walk into my living room to see that my male melanochromis exasperatus has commited suicide he jumped right out of the tank and onto the floor. so now i guess its just back to the fish store lol.

Check your water conditions. Maybe your fish jumped out because the water conditions werent right. Do a nice water change. Could be ammonia or something.
Tis why I won't put a pleco in my Malawian tank.
Sorry for your losses Jason. I'd definitely do some water changes and monitor your water quality before heading to the lfs.
What size tank do you have and what are all the occupants?
Sorry for your loss.... Does your tank have a lid? If not you can build an easy glass lid like this one (29gal) for next to nothing.. I had the glass (non tempered) laying around from an old window. The hinge, handle and the back piece cost under cost about $7.
Strange I have been trying to do this. Where did you find a hinge, back piece and handle? I hope it was at a LPS chain.
