WHERE did these snails come from???

Picures make it hard to tell what all type of fish you have other then the two mentioned. Snails are difficult at times to get rid of but it can be done. If you would like to have the fish identified try to take photo's of the fish you would like the identity on. I love the Placo you have in your photo. Make sure you buy a test kit and read the instructions. As far as the filters give us a close up of them.
 
Thank you for your reply. How do I add more pictures to my post? I have taken some more pictures, ones with snails this time lol. I took your advice and took close ups of less fish, making a much better picture, Thanks! ??Test kit?? What is this for? The only thisng Ive done with my tank is fill it with more water, turned the pumps on(which after about a month or so they stopped working, Thats when I found out that I have to clean them, not just turn them on. One of my tanks have nothing in it yet, I think for right now learning to care for one is enough. I do have a ton of tank stuff under my tanks, But nothing has paperwork or boxes, nothing to let me know what things are or what to do with them. I think maybe the other tank with nothing in it is a saltwater tank, because I have alot of saltwater stuff as well as big bags of salt stuff. Im sorry about using the words "stuff or things" instead of the correct terms. I just really have no idea what any of this stuff is. Again thanks for your time in helping me with my fish questions
 
So, if you have snails that appear from nothing, are they bad?

My nephew has a 30 gallon hex and about a month ago he put some Fox Tail in it. Now we've noticed three bb sized snails in the tank. I'm assuming the snails may have came from the Fox Tail?

Small bb sized snails are probably common pond snails. They hitchike on plants quite often. They won't harm your aquarium any, as they eat algae and don't generate too significant a bioload, but they are a pain to try and kill off, because if even 1 snail survives it will generate offspring.

Usually you'll get a population boom where you have snails everywhere, then they'll die off to an equillibrium with the food source in your tank. They can be moderately annoying if you don't want them, but they won't actually harm your fish or your plants, generally.

So its just a matter of population control then?
 
Pretty much. I have a betta that helps me keep my population in control (and him very well fed :D), and I occasionally crush snails I catch climbing on the glass (they also like to burrow in the substrate) They don't look ugly, and I don't mind having them, so it's not a big deal to me.
