55g Tank with hood, light, heater, net, filter (would be a decent one if it had a bio-wheel), sticky thermometer, trial fish flakes, chlorout is $149.99 at my wally world.

Stand is 80-90 bucks.

Man... we're too expensive up here.... $90 bucks wouldn't get us a 20g....

Mmm i bought my 32 gal kit plus stand for $390 canadian (includes hood, lights, net, filter, heater, thermometer, instructional video (very funny to watch!), amoungst other little things). Errr, so it's around $300 US? I'm not up-to-date on the exchange rate. Its a nice tank though.

Big Al's up here was more expensive than my little private lfs. I didn't even check wal-mart. I boycot walmart up here because every fish i have ever bought there has died fast and they always have dead fish in thier tanks.
So i will not give them my money! :D

Add 25 more gallons, which gives a 'better water column' for more thorough water flow, buy my 80 gallon in the Classifieds here at AC! ..Just the lights alone are worth $300.. :)

i found a 55g set up at walmart for 150. Came with lights, heater, filter, net...How good are these lights that come with it? also if i ge tthis kit i will not need the filter so if anyone needs a filter i wilkl have an extra.

Do not also discount your local fish store, sometimes they may have used tanks at a cheap price. At my LFS i bought a 75 gal seaclear system II setup for $100 us, with PC lights and an extra filter. (its going to be a reef tank when I am done)
55 gallons are nice but tend to be very narrow, there are better tanks that are not so narrow in size. Try a 65 gallon tank, i believe oceanic makes those.
But any glass tank you would order online would have UNGODLY shipping charges, it would be cheaper to look at plexiglass since those are lighter.
