Where were you on 9/11?

6th grade English class. The 8th grade history teacher ran upstairs and said the towers had been attacked. Our teacher couldn't figure out how to go from the input for the VCR to the tv and said "it's not that big of news anyway" and kept teaching. After 1st period we watched the news all day in school.

I was at home listening to the radio when they said a plane had hit the WTC tower. I turned on CNN and saw the second plane hit live. I was very upset and remember calling my mom when the first tower fell. I will never forget that day.

How would I remember? I was 2!!!

But my mom said they were scared for months that Chicago would get hit, Wich was were we lived at the time.

I was home sick from work that day and caught it on TV around 10ish that morning, if I recall. It was just after the first plane struck. I saw the second plane hit shortly after and was glued to the TV the rest of the day.

walked into the house only to be slammed by mom being freaked out. said she just got off the phone with the hubby when he said he was on an overpass and was screaming "OMG... profanity... OMG... that plane's headed straight for the twin towers"... then he started freaking out about it hitting... said she even heard it... then the phone just went out. she thought he was close enough that somehow he'd died.

i just remember sitting with her and holding her for about a day and a half as she poured tears, trembled, contemplated the rest of her life without him, clutched the phone for dear life and watched the t.v. recount the events over and over until the phone lines would allow contact again.

a sad day it was...

I was at work in the cafeteria picking up some coffee. They have tv's on the walls so we all saw it once CNN came on.... people gathered, everyone stood there, some holding their hands over their mouths, some just standing there...the room was silent... disbelief written all over everyone's face!

there building another one, said they may be done by 2013, i dont know why they would build another one... wouldnt the same thing happen AGAIN? and then there goes another few billions down the drain...

I was with my father, driving to a machine shop to finish motor work and get ready for a race that coming weekend. We saw the smoke from what must have been right after the first tower was hit, based on the tine and the fact that the smoke hadn't traveled that far yet. When we got to the shop, we were all glued to the tv. I went down the road a short while later and remember hearing the female radio reporters voice when the first tower fell. It's something I'll never forget. Our race was later camcelled along with so much else. My grandfather used to take me on day trips when i was young, and we stood on the roof of one of the towers.
