Whew...I'm almost there! *freaks out*

My assassins kept laying until last night and one pair mated again. I never knew when this all started and I saw plenty more near rock bases and then the sponge filter.:perv:

Must be a tiring ordeal for the ladies but I saw more laid and one female assassin is still laying on floating plants, etc.:nilly:

Lupin Alienus! :nutkick:
*searches a punching smiley and puts a square punch right in Darryl's face as he stares innocently and walks off*

What I have found is that they have not laid any eggs on the wood, glass, or larger rocks in the tank, making me believe they are mainly found in areas with a pebble/sand based substrate and stiff plants or roots that can bear their weight.
For Sounguru:

Will, you might want to update your article. I've found about 10 eggs stuck on the glass. My assassins laid more eggs tonight and some are stuck on glass, plenty more on large rocks and wood at the back of my tank. It seems to take the female 5-10 minutes to drop an egg which is very slow to me.:perv:

I do say she can lay from 2 to 15 eggs at a time then usually will go feed and then drop more. Are you finding a different count? The female may also take a couple day break then start laying agian without mating.

Or are you talking about the laying location? Which I just updated since mine have started to use areas they hadn't before.

Will, I meant the laying location. I tried taking pictures but all they show is vague white dots. They are laying everywhere and one of my assassins just laid another egg after a short meal of a dead cana shared by another assassin. The rock/pebble bases, empty shells of canas/large MTS, roots, leaves, sponge filter, wood and even glass (lower stratum) are sprinkled with eggs. I even saw a lone egg on the sand near a few pebbles. I have a feeling they started laying last Sunday, the day I arrived home from a vacation but I could be wrong. I just started seeing them last Monday.

Okay, here's the latest of an assassin depositing an egg in an empty MTS shell.

Edit: Hang on! There's a clear shot of an egg below that I never saw. Woo hoo! I have proof at last that they have been laying eggs!
