Which cannister filter to buy?

Thanks a LOT everyone! You have given me a great place to start, now I have to research and compare some of the things you all talked about.

I was all ready leaning toward the Eheim because I had heard so much good stuff about it. There is a lot about the XP3 good as well though.

I think unless I change my mind I'm gonna go with the ehim 2217. Everyone says they are quiet, and that is a big thing for me since the filters gonna be about 3 feet from my head while I sleep. lol

HAH, thats from my thread. and for my 2 cents, the eheim is much better than the fluval. Side by side comparison, the eheim 2215 outdoes the fluval 305 in many different ways.
