Hello

I'm interested to know which fish you've kept that are really interesting to watch, and which are a bit boring :hypnotized:. So not about good looks but interest value. For example I think:

- Dwarf Puffers are really fun to watch

- Bettas are beautiful but don't do much

DB.

myself believe that angels are beautiful but a little boring although not as much as lazy mr betta.

I say corys are fun to watch, while gold fish are quite boring.

corys & cherrybarbs fun to watch,& i agree Goldfish bore me.

Actually, I really enjoyed watching my fantails dig around in the gravel and I thought it was funny when guests would hear a ticking sound from the tank and realize it was the goldies rearranging the rocks. They were busy all the time and the floating tail was like watching a living lava light.

My betta was pretty, but only showed some personality when he was confronted with a mirror. Still, I was sad when he died.

I think a big, correctly stocked tank of malawis is a fantastic option - active, interesting behaviourally and colourful. The same can be said for tanganyikan shell dwellers if you don't have the space for malawis.

A colony of tropheus also gives you fantastic options for colour and again they are amazing little fish to watch.

One fish that i believe can be the most interesting and borin is the plec. 90 % of the time mine hide and only turn interesting at feedin time when they all pounce on their prawns and sweet potato.

While angels do tend to sit still for long periods, their constant surveying of their areas and changing colors are interesting.

I think the most boring fish I ever had was a dwarf Lion. They *really* just sit around, doing nothing. They're right up there w/ large snakes in terms of activity levels. I think the only more boring inhabitant would be clams - buried 99% of the time... A friend had a juvenile Coris Wrasse that I caught a glimpse of once in 2 years - again, buried all the time.

I realize it's a good thing to have stuff that stirs up your substrate a little, but the things that do it are sometimes quite boring.

My tetras are fascinating sometimes. Last night I watched all 9 of them eat the same bloodworm. They would sneak up behind and take it right out of the other's mouth. Then someone would come along and steal it from them.

I also fell in love with the cories. Lots of personality.
