Which fish are most interesting / most boring to watch?

Tiger Barbs at feeding time makes for lots of fun

My spiny eel would have to be the most interesting to watch - as he is constantly hunting around for food and the way he stays absolutey still when the other fish aproach him. Occosionally I will drop an earthworm in the tank for him and it is fascinating to watch him try to eat it or thrash it against the surface to "tenderise" it!!!

I was thinking of gouramis...which everyone has but nobody's commented on. So I'm thinking I could be right....in the fish store, the gourami's just sit there looking bored. Do they do that all the time?

I had 2 Opaline Gouramis and they were incredibly active always chasing each other around and swimming back and forth just every where. They would even probe the other fish and all the decorations with their ventral things. Well one killed the other and I put him in his own little 29 gallon tank and I think the only time he sits still is after lights out.

My goldfish are very full of life. If i sit in front of the tank without giving them some form of attention they will spit gravel at the glass until I do. One of them even likes to play peek a boo around the driftwood.

Out of my stock I would have to say:

Boring: Bumblebee gobies. These are the dumbest fish I have ever seen.

Interesting would be a toss up between my Pearl Gourami and my Batik Loach both are very interactive fish. I hand feed my Pearl every day.

I vote for bettas as some of the most ineresting fish...
Bettas are very aware of whats going on outside their tanks, mine will spend quite a bit of time "checking out" whats going on around them.
Going to the petstore and seeing their bettas is like a complete night and day difference! I almost cant believe they are the same fish. The petstore bettas have atrophied muscles, weak confidence, and many are fearful of humans from being forced to sit in one spot in their tiny cups and be poked at by every person that walks by them AND the lights in a petstore are never fully turned off so I can only imagine what that must do to their sleep schedules....
Many of my bettas are those I have bred my self and speaking from personal experience they cant be any MORE interesting because they never stop moving! :D
I have ten or so adult bettas right now and about forty juveniles. All the adults are in at least one to two gallon jars with a small bit of gravel and some plants. Some have sponge filters but most do not. maybe it is something in the water? lol!
Sorry for the long post :P

DP's are fun. dragon goby is also but rather boring since they dont do much.

I find guppies to be interesting because they swim around a lot, right in front of the tank, and eat with a voracious appetite.

I don't find any fish boring, unless you never see them!
The fish I find the most interesting are Clown Loaches because they are so playful. They need to be in groups of at least 5 to see their true nature. Cories are quite playful too.
I find rainbows (all types) very interesting the way they "display" for each other with amazing bright colors they can turn on and off instantaneously.

i have 2 clowns and i have had 5 before and the 2 still do their figure eight dance and swim lightspeed and monouvre throughout the tank and caves of stacked rocks. they are just happy to be in a big tank i think becuase i had the 5 in a 55 before i moved then got rid of everything.
