Stealth Heater Recall

I thought I saw in someone's post the other day that all stealth heaters have been recalled is this true?

There is a 250 watt on my cichlid take that is still currently running. Should I swap it out with a replacement?
 
Yep they have been recalled for a while. I took mine to petsmart. Better than having a tankful of dead fish or your tank all over the floor.
 
That is really scary considering I am still using it. This wasn't even considered a cheap heater to begin with. Do you think I should request a refund and go with a different heater? I don't know if I would even be able to trust there replacement. Has anyone here received the new replacement heater?

What would be a good reputable brand for a replacement that hasn't had a history of recalls?
 
How did everyone else find out? At least from my stand point I would never have heard about it unless I was a member of aquaria central.
 
I don't think they made any post recall Stealth models? I have a Marineland Visitherm 200w, I do like it easy to read. I have several different heaters of different manafactuers of the ones that are still being made the Visitherm and Finnex are the ones I'd buy again.
 
I have heard that Finnex is good because it has a digital read out instead of a dial. How did everyone find out it was recalled in april?

What is the most reliable heater available that is reasonably priced? I just found out that the 250 watt Stealth Heater I have was recalled in April. How did everyone find out about it?

I think I will stick with any brand that is only glass so that way I can stay away from any cheap plastic models.

I heard from bulkreefsupply that finnex was a good heater because of the fact that it has a digital display.

Are there any brands out there that do not have a light that comes on every time it turns on? I like that the most about the stealth.

Please let me know what you think.
