I have a feeling my well is getting soured again due to drought conditions. I can't really use carbon in my tanks due to fert dosing. I've been checking into Purigen and would like to get thoughts/recommendations from others before I do anything.

Also..I should have mentioned as well that a few of these tanks house shrimpies.

From what I understand, it is better than using AC and is friendly to planted tanks and ferts. But again, this is only what I have read.

Ive been using Purigen and in fact I got it in my filter as we speak. It hasnt caused any problems on my plants. From what Ive heard its impact on trace elements is minimal compared to carbon. I dont know using carbon is beneficial when youre dosing fertilizers.

I just wanted to get some more input before goint either way. I know the best research comes from actually doing it yourself but my tanks planted tanks are doing rather well and would not want to impact them. Especially with the invert colonies thriving as well.

Now granted both AC and Purigen shouldn't have any impact on them, but it's always safe to get input from the community.
