Why are the cories always swimming against the glass?

I read that cories swim against the glass when they are sad or when there aren't any other of its type around. I have leopards, yet they are always swimming against the glass. :( Is something wrong? Do I need to get yet more cories?

I found my cories did the same thing when i had them in a ten gallon. I have since upgraded to a 20 long and they don't really do it anymore. So i am going to guess that size is a factor.

Do they swim against the glass or up and down the glass? If they swim up and down, it's no real problem. Give them something to do, like add an interesting decoration or something.

The go up and down and look at their reflection I guess. I have a lot of plants and a piece of bogwood in there.

most of my cories have spawned on the glass of thier tanks. So it might be that they are just getting in some practice.

They've been doing this for quite a while!

I have a 10 gallon. Is that too small for leopard corries?

I have 4 in my 50 gallon and they still do that. I'm not really worried. they are well fed, and i think 4 is enough and they have a huge cave and lots of other places to go. I think they are just an active fish. Then again i could be wrong.

I've alway's had cory's!!
Panda, Albino..ect, ect....!!

I love them...but........

They love swimming up and down......up & down....up & down.........lol......OH.......&........up & down.........yes!!!!! We get it!!!
I've has from 10 - 22 in my tank.

Right now a few and fry!!

They lay for age's and have sudden burst's of energy!!

I have came too the conclusion, they are VERY vain!!!
They seem to love they're OWN reflection!! Or may think this is they're perfect partner in the image!!
Either way...they all seem to do it!!
Don't worry!! I only worry if they are lethargic!!!....And don't do the up down, round & round "Thing!!"

:)

Just looked at my tank :)
Round and round, up and down!!!
I love my Panda Cory!
All 5 and 9 fry of them!!!

cories are fish such that if they were human and enrolled in a school the teachers would say they were super-hyperactive and need heavy doses of ritilan :coffee2:

I'd say their behavior is perfectly normal - mine did the same thing for 2 weeks until I rearanged the tank and gave them more hidie-holes. one of them still likes to do it at random intervals (I think its the same one...)
