Hi,
Although I had been known for my previous gravitation towards loaches and snails (I still am, just cannot focus my usual advisory tendencies on more than one subject these days), goldfish was one of the first fish I ever kept together with bettas, livebearers and cichlids. It took me quite a long time before I eventually returned to them because firstly, my inexperience back when I was new to fish with goldfish had been disastrous and I did not feel at that point encouraged to keep them again until recently.
I have to thank my fellow mods, Kashta and Iris for their wonderful storytelling that it prompted me to return in full force this time.
I am in more ways than one quite happy to be where I am.
1. Despite popular beliefs, goldfish present quite a challenge, much more than what I anticipated upon my return but I do not mind the challenges I face. It gives you plenty of learning experiences.
2. They're quite personable contrary to popular beliefs wherein people tell you, "goldfish lack personality" and all that bunk.
3. Cuteness factor. I can't deny goldfish look very cute especially when you become extremely attached to them.
